Parent-Child Interaction Therapy
I am certified in providing PCIT, which is an evidence-based treatment aimed at helping families navigate behavioral challenges, such as tantrums, defiance, and aggression in children aged 2-7. Treatment involves two phases, the first of which is focused on enhancing warmth and positivity in your relationship with your child while the second is focused on limit setting. This method of treatment involves live, virtual coaching sessions in which I help you develop specific parenting skills during real interactions with your child.

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is a evidenced-based intervention designed to help parents effectively respond to their child's disruptive behaviors. Developed by Dr. Sheila Eyeberg, PCIT is supported by decades of research that illustrates the effectiveness of PCIT in strengthening parent-child relationships, while providing caregivers with supportive and consistent ways of setting limits and managing behavior.
As a Certified PCIT Provider, I have completed advanced training in PCIT treatment, including working closely with an experienced PCIT trainer and supervisor to treat complex cases. Established research suggests that completion of PCIT results in significant and long term decreases in disruptive behaviors, increases in positive behaviors, and reduced parental stress levels. Furthermore, research suggests that both in person and telehealth delivery of PCIT result in positive outcomes. Many families report that they continue to utilize PCIT skills and they continue to help for years after completing treatment.
PCIT has been shown to be effective with families from a variety of backgrounds and cultural communities, in addition to families involved in foster care and families who have experienced traumatic events. In sum, PCIT is a trusted and proven treatment choice that will focus on the real-life relationship between you and your child.
